Infineon Raceway, Sonoma CA, brings the 3rd season opener for TTXGP North America to the West Coast Moto Jam on May 4th - May 6th 2012.

This year will see the return of the TTXGP North America 2011 Champions, Brammo Racing defending their crown. Steve Atlas returns again as the pilot of the rebooted Brammo Empulse RR Motorcycle; and is looking forward to returning to Infineon this year:-

"'i'm far more confident than last year that's for sure. Then again, last year I had only ridden an electric motorcycle twice before the opening round, so it was an all new world to me. But after the success we had last year and the improvements the team have made to the bike in the off-season I'm feeling good about defending our title and am excited to get things going! The guys at Brammo did an amazing job last year and I can't wait to show off what improvements they have made to the Empulse RR this off-season"

As well as the TTXGP class outright winner; there will be  a prize for the fastest bike with a limited store of energy (7.5KwH) and brand new for 2012 a production specification category called "TTXGP eSuperstock."  As more manufacturers  such as Brammo with Empulse and CRP's Energica, release electric street models that can be adapted to racing; this category is set to grow. In order to qualify for this category, a minimum of 25 units/motorcycles will have to be available for sale to the general public, at the time of the race. It will provide a real showcase of racing talent with a production spec drivetrains. Infineon Raceway's season opener will kick off with a number of Zero S models adapted for racing by their team owners, promising close and exciting racing action as well a cost effective entry option to the race series, joining the the grid without the expense of building a  prototype machine.

"Looking forward to our 4th season with TTXGP, its amazing to see how the field has matured and continues to demonstrate the drive of the adventurers to overcome the challenges both on and off the track. We are also improving and are creating the foundations for a sport and industry which we hope will continue to lead the next generation of motorsport" said Azhar Hussain MBE, CEO TTXGP.

There is much to look forward to... check back during the weekend for updates, interviews from the paddock and photos or follow us on twitter @TTXGP or on facebook TTXGPOfficial.
