CRP was one of the first teams to sign up for TTXGP for 2010 and 2011. They stopped in 2012 to develop the Energica, a first all-electric Italian Superbike based on their racing heritage.
The CRP Group is involved as technological partner in several projects spanning motorsports and automotive to aerospace. Based in Modena, CRP has never been far from racing and when TTXGP came along, they saw it as a chance to enter and drive this 3rd generation family business into an exciting new future.
Energica is the first Italian prototype of an electric streetbike. After two years of racing all over the world with the TTXGP, the CRP Group decided to bring the experience from the racetrack into automotive with Project Energica. In doing so, CRP adopted the very latest in 3d printing and additive manufacturing processes. For example, using CRP’s own Windform materials, CRP could build the cover of the headlight of Energica with 3d printing.
ENERGICA tops out at 220 km/h and it can count trace parts of its DNA to F1
Equipped with with a PMAC synchronous motor with permanent magnets and maps management system with a power of 100Kw oil cooled and a torque of 160Nm.
Energica has a range of 150 km (@70kmh cruising). The batteries can be charged within 3 hours or in less than 30 minutes to 80% of batteries capacity. The battery has a nominal capacity of 11.7 kWh and 13.2 kWh when it is completely charged. The braking system is Brembo. It has a double monolitic caliper with radial mount, 4 pistons, and rear 2 pistons caliper. Tyres are from the series Pirelli Diablo Rosso. The throttle controls of Energica are from Domino. The rear mono absorber and the steering damper is from Sachs. The front fork of 43 mm is from Marzocchi.
The instrument cluster comes from Moto2 with LED lights and an energy recovery system inspired by F1, it completes an attractive performance package for €18.000 Euros.
Inspired by racing but driven with a passion to charge forward, CRP has used TTXGP and our sport as a platform to move into the next generation of commercial endeavor.
