Dear Visitor,

TTXGP 2010

We are picking up speed for 2010 with the announcement that Mission Motors and Zero Motorcycles have signed up for TTXGP 2010. Growing the grid was always the plan for 2010 but it's almost going to be a ‘fashion catwalk' with the further news that Italian CRP Racing is moving into electric bike production. Add to that the Mavizen TTX02 and you have a serious start line up.

One welcome addition to the teams is the news that Jenny Tinmouth, fastest woman on the Isle of Man TT (116.8) has signed up for Team Agni, TTXGP Isle of Man 2009 winners. A figure to chase, guys...

A laughing matter for Rob Barber and Azhar Hussain in 2009 but with the announcements above, 2010 could see some serious competition

Team Agni will be entering two bikes into the TTXGP UK Championship. Agni managing director, Arvind Rabadiea, said, "2010 will see us launch the next generation of Agni technology. 2009 was an outstanding success for Agni and we are proud to continue our association with TTXGP which opens up more opportunities not only on the track but also for our customers. As TTXGP expands, so do Team Agni – pioneers do it together to break down frontiers."

Streamline or not – is this a question?

Not according to Craig Vetter who has is a keen enthusiast and campaigner for streamlining to be allowed. The following is an excerpt from his website article..."One of the little know reasons real streamlining was banned in 1957 was this: Electric motorcycle manufacturers did not like the new streamlined race bikes because the bikes they were producing did not look like them. They were afraid that fans would not make the connection between what they saw on the track and what they saw in the showroom.

Today streamlining is being allowed on electric machines because there is no organisation of electric manufacturers with a ‘status quo' industry to protect. Many involved in electric racing understand their batteries will take them further and faster."

TTXGP links into IET second time around

The TTXGP advisory team wrote the rules and regulations for TTXGP 2009, the World's first electric motorsports race. The IET has signed up again to be part of 2010 through its events and venues operation.
Simon Maddison, chair of the panel, said, "TTXGP set the standards for global electric vehicle racing. All those who came after us will base their findings on our recommendations. There is only one rule book and that is written by those who know and those who have experienced it. That is TTXGP."

Jeremy Burne, pictured, has taken up his new role as TTXGP's Director for the North America Championship. Jeremy served as British Vice Consul in Cleveland. He helped to establish offices for a number of British clients including the Motorsport Industry Association and Financial Times Automotive. He was awarded a MBE (Member of the British Empire) for services to the British Motor Industry in the USA.
