Disciplinary Actions
From eGrandPrix
Disciplinary Actions consist of two general categories based on the authority that issues them. The first authority is the Race Controller (RC), whose actions relate only to the event they oversee. The second authority is the TTXGP Disciplinary Committee (DC), whose possible actions may vary from a single event to the duration of a championship. The RC is able to use actions that affect a race while it is occurring, while the DC may only apply actions outside of races.

Race Controller
Drive Through Penalty - The penalised rider must ride through the pits at the appropriate, posted speed limit, without stopping. This must be completed on a lap which will not end their race. If it is not possible to complete this penalty then a 30 second penalty will be applied to the entry's race time.
Stop-Go Penalty - The penalised rider must enter the pits, come to a complete halt and may not continue and rejoin the race until the relevant race official has signalled to the rider that they have completed the penalty. The time that the official will keep the rider stationary will be 20 seconds. Nobody may touch the bike during this period other than its rider (This is to stop maintenance/repair/other pit work during the penalty). This penalty must be completed on a lap which will not end their race. If it is not possible to complete this penalty then a 60 second penalty will be applied to the entry's race time.
Time Penalty - The penalised entrant will have a specified time added to their total race time. The increase in their race time may change the finishing order, in which case the points for the race are reallocated based on the adjusted positions. This penalty may be applied before, during or after the race.
Disqualification - The penalised entrant is no longer eligible to compete in the event and may not receive any championship points. This penalty may be applied after the race has concluded, in which case the penalised entrant receives no points and points are allocated to other teams as if this entrant had not competed at all. Disqualifications apply to all sessions and races of an event.
Disciplinary Committee
Time Penalty - see 'Time Penalty' for the Race Controller.
Disqualification - The penalised entrant is no longer eligible to compete in the indicated event and may not receive championship points in that event. This may be applied to an event that has already concluded, in which case any points that entrant received for that event are removed and the points are reallocated to the teams in the event as though this entrant had not competed at all. This may also be applied to future events, for which the penalised entrant may no longer enter. For very serious infringements, an entrant may be disqualified from the championship entirely, in which all championship points they have received are removed and they may no longer compete in any events for the remainder of the championship. Disqualifications apply to all sessions and races of an event.
Points Deduction - The penalised entrant has an indicated number of championship points removed from them. A team may be moved into negative championship points by this penalty (Not sure which way this should go, feel free to discuss. Simey 14:09, 17 June 2010 (UTC))
Typical Cases
These are to demonstrate possible scenarios where the disciplinary action rules may be used and to give an indication of reasonable penalties.
Unsafe riding behaviour
This may include speeding in the pit lane, excessively aggressive riding resulting in contact between entrants or disobeying official's flags. The actions taken for this are determined by the RC. Depending on severity these would be either a drive-through penalty, stop-go penalty or disqualification. If the behaviour is deemed as malicious or deliberately dangerous then after the occurrence this matter may be passed to the DC with appropriate evidence. The DC may then determine any additional disciplinary actions that will be applied.
Unsafe equipment
If the equipment (PTW, rider gear or other) is deemed unsafe by the race officials, the entrant will not be allowed to enter any session or race until the problem is resolved. If the entrant refuses to rectify the problem then they will be disqualified from the event.
Breach of technical regulations
If an entrant has breached a technical regulation then the DC will be asked to determine an appropriate disciplinary action. The factors taken into account should include but are not limited to; The severity of the breach, the extent of the advantage gained by the breach, the events over which the breach occurred and the level of intent by the entrant.
Statement of Intent
All disciplinary actions issued should be reasonable, consistent and fair. The actions applied should be relevant to the infringement. No actions should be taken unless it can be determined that the party in question was most likely guilty of the infringement.
