Fluid-based coolant systems

All water-cooled PTWs must use water ONLY and safety-wire all drain plugs, radiator caps, and petcocks. Antifreeze may NOT be used in the cooling system. Use of the Red Line Brand “Water WetterTM” or an approved alternative coolant additive is allowed. In all cases, use of an additive with Propylene Glycol as an ingredient is prohibited. Hose fittings may be secured with an RTV application.

All oil-cooled PTWs must safety-wire all drain plugs, cooler caps, and petcocks. In the interest of progressing the technology of non-petroleum based motorsports, only non-petroleum based oils and blends may be used in oil-cooled PTWs. Hose fittings may be secured with an RTV application.

When visiting scrutineeering for technical inspection, any bodywork covering these fittings must be removed in order to verify proper securing.
