I need help learning how to edit wiki language.
Start here
I think I can edit, but I don't know where to start editing.
Try the main page, browse through the table of contents, and find a section that interests you. You can either edit the rule itself or talk about what you want to do on that section's "discussion" page.
What's the "discussion" page?
Look at the top of every page on this wiki. There is a discussion tab. These are also called "Talk" pages.
How do I start editing a page?
Find the "edit" tab at the top of the page. Click, go forth, and edit.
I'm afraid I'll mess it up.
Don't worry... unlike life and racecourses, every mistake or wrong turn here can be undone.
I can't find the "edit" button.
Are you logged in? You must be logged in to edit the rules. If you're logged in, then look at the tabs along the top of the page. There should be an "edit" tab.
How do I sign my changes?
You can use four tildes (that's this character: ~ ) usually found as the uppercase of the key to the left of the number "1" on your keyboard. Four tildes ~~~~ will end up with your user name, date, and the time of your edit... like this: EMotoRules 14:02, 29 January 2010 (UTC).
Can I include blatant self promotional links?
Let's not get out of control here. If you want to include a link to your site on your user page, that's fine, but please exercise some discretion. This Wiki is not an income opportunity--it's an attempt to use the power of the crowd to help shape the rules for electric motorcycle racing. Keep your eyes on the prize.
